In December, 2010, there were 41 new monthly record high sea surface temperature measurements and 11 new record monthly lows. This map provided by the Met Office Hadley Centre for Climate Change, presents monthly average sea surface temperature (SST) anomalies (relative to 1961-1990) from HadSST2. White areas represent gridboxes containing no SST data.
